HAMMOND – The Louisiana Small Business Development Center at Southeastern Louisiana University will host a seminar on effective techniques for using Facebook in business on Tuesday, June 17.

The free event will be held in Mandeville at the St. Tammany Center, located at 21454 Koop Drive, from 9 a.m. to noon.

"The presentation is a guide for small businesses or nonprofits that have been using Facebook for social media marketing," said Sandy Summers, assistant director of the Small Business Development Center, "but need some tips to take them to an intermediate level."

Summers said core concepts will include a closer look at Facebook; how to tell if it is right for your business; what kind of content to create and post; etiquette; how to tell if content is working; suggestions on what to do next; and why social media and email marketing must be used together.

There is no charge to attend the event; however, pre-registration is preferred. For more information, contact LSBDC Southeastern at 985-549-3831 or lsbdc.slu@lsbdc.org. Online registration is available at www.lsbdc.org.
