HAMMOND – Southeastern Louisiana University student Scott Jarreau of Baton Rouge
was named Outstanding Student Teacher by the College of Education at its honors convocation
May 2.
The college also announced the recipients of departmental honors and new members
of the Phi Kappa Phi, Kappa Delta Pi, and Phi Alpha honor societies and Southeastern’s
own Thirteen Club honor society.
The list of students receiving honors includes the following:
ADDIS – Katie Smith, Outstanding Senior in Special Education.
BATON ROUGE – Scott Jarreau, Outstanding Senior in Middle School Education, 4-8 and Outstanding Student Teacher Award.
FRANKLINTON – Joel Brumfield, Outstanding Senior in Social Studies Education.
HAMMOND – Lyndsey DeVaney, International Baccalaureate Certificate Completer.
PONCHATOULA – Laura Hugget, Outstanding Senior in Elementary Education and International Baccalaureate Certificate Completer.
PRAIRIEVILLE – Hannah Hall, Outstanding Senior in Early Childhood Education, PK-3.
TICKFAW – Adam DiBenedetto, Outstanding Senior in English Education.
CUTLINES
1) SOUTHEASTERN COLLEGE OF EDUCATION HONORS (ASCENSION) – Hannah Hall of Prairieville
was recognized at Southeastern Louisiana University College of Education’s annual
honors convocation May 2. Hall was recognized as the Outstanding Senior in Early Childhood
Education, PK-3.
2) SOUTHEASTERN COLLEGE OF EDUCATION HONORS (EAST BATON ROUGE) – Scott Jarreau of Baton
Rouge, was recognized at Southeastern Louisiana University College of Education’s
annual honors convocation May 2. Jarreau received the Outstanding Senior in Middle
School Education, 4-8 Award, as well as the 2018-19 Outstanding Student Teacher Award.
3) SOUTHEASTERN COLLEGE OF EDUCATION HONORS (TANGIPAHOA) – Adam DiBenedetto of Tickfaw,
left, and Laura Hugget of Ponchatoula, were recognized at Southeastern Louisiana University
College of Education’s annual honors convocation May 2. DiBenedetto was named Outstanding
Senior in English Education, while Hugget was recognized as Outstanding Senior in
Elementary Education and an International Baccalaureate Certificate Completer.
4) SOUTHEASTERN COLLEGE OF EDUCATION HONORS (WASHINGTON) – Joel Brumfield of Franklinton
was named the Outstanding Senior in Social Studies Education at Southeastern Louisiana
University College of Education’s annual honors convocation May 2.
5) SOUTHEASTERN COLLEGE OF EDUCATION HONORS (West Baton Rouge) – Katie Smith of Addis
was named the Outstanding Senior in Special Education at Southeastern Louisiana University
College of Education’s annual honors convocation May 2.
