UNIVERSITY HEALTH CENTER
The University Health Center provides an outpatient clinic for the care of most minor
illnesses and injuries involving students enrolled at Southeastern. A Nurse Practitioner
is available during appointed clinic hours. Medications prescribed by the practitioner
must be obtained from a pharmacy at the student’s expense. Any laboratory work, x-rays
and certain extraordinary services may be done at a local hospital or doctor’s office
which also has to be paid by the student.
The Health Center is open from 7:40 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7:30 a.m. to noonon Friday. Appointments can be easily made on our website, www.southeastern.edu/admin/health_ctr, using either a PC or smart phone. In case of accident or severe illness, students
may report to any hospital emergency room for treatment through their personal insurance
coverage.
All new patients must complete a Health History Form. All health history information
will be put into our Electronic Medical Records. The information is completely confidential
and is reviewed only by professional staff members.
Students must furnish proof of immunization for two MMRs (Measles, Mumps, Rubella),
Meningitis and up-to-date Tetanus/Diphtheria. Hepatitis B vaccinations and Tetanus
are available at the University Health Center for a fee. Flu vaccinations are also
offered to students, faculty, and staff beginning in mid-October.

Student Insurance
The university recommends that all students have adequate health and accident insurance.
Insurance is required for all International Students.
