Southeastern 101 is not required of transfer or readmitted Southeastern students with 30 hours or more. Those students will replace Southeastern 101 with 2 hours of free electives.

Certification Requirements
A minimum of twelve (12) of the thirty (30) hours required at the 300/400 level must be fulfilled by a semester residence in a university abroad or by two summers of intensive immersion study on a Louisiana university campus, an out-of-state university campus, or abroad. Study abroad is highly recommended in order to be proficient in the foreign language. Foreign Language Majors must also take the ACTFL Proficiency Exam before student teaching. The minimum score required is "Advanced Low."
