To be eligible for the National Child Life certification exam, students must complete a 3-credit hour (120 clock hours) Child Life Practicum (CL 326) and a 12-credit hour (600 clock hours) Child Life Internship (HDFS 487). Placements are dependent on formal acceptance into a hospital-based Child Life practicum/internship program. By utilizing both FCS and free electives for the practicum and internship courses, students will have the opportunity to complete the requirements necessary for exam eligibility within the HUSC 120-hour degree plan.
