Department of Kinesiology and Health Studies

The Bachelor of Science in Health and Physical Education Grades K-12 fulfills Louisiana requirements for teacher certification in both health and physical education (K-12). Graduation requirements include a 2.5 GPA and earning a grade of "C" or better in all major courses plus courses in mathematics, English, and the sciences. Students must also earn passing scores on teacher licensure exams (PRAXIS), participate in a group interview screening process, complete a professional portfolio, and meet other requirements of the University's teacher education program described in the College of Education section of this catalogue.
