Go from Student to CEO with the Young Entrepreneurs Academy

yeabannerDo you know a teen who has a big idea? Have they always wanted to start their own business? Do they dream of taking an invention or project to the next level?

If you answered YEA! to any of these questions, you need to know about the Young Entrepreneurs Academy (or YEA!)—a dynamic afterschool program that helps 6th-12th develop, build, and launch their very own business. This national program is hosted locally through Southeastern Louisiana University and the Louisiana Small Business Development Center at Southeastern.

As a Southeastern alum, we’d like to personally invite your family to take part in this exciting program. The program offers incredible benefits for students including:

  • One-on-one mentoring and networking with local business leaders to build knowledge, skills, and confidence
  • Students are guided with the help of experts through the process of building their very own business—including pitching for real investments
  • Classes conducted in one of Southeastern’s newest technology labs in a safe, clean, socially-distanced environment
  • Fun, dynamic field trips that go “behind the scenes” in exciting local businesses
  •  50% sponsored scholarship for every accepted applicant (with additional scholarships available based on need)

YEA! Northshore is launching the 2020-2021 class soon and spots are limited to just 25 students. The application deadline is September 25th (or when the class is full, whichever comes first), so don’t delay!
