Roomie's Homecoming Run: A Virtual 5k

Race Kickoff on Saturday, October 17
Race Closes on Saturday, October 24
$15 per Participant; Race Registration open until October 22, midnight

The Southeastern Alumni Association and The Rec have joined forces to bring you Roomie’s Homecoming Run: A Virtual 5k. Participating is easy! Simply complete your registration form, run the specified distance (3.1 miles) between October 17 and 24 and submit your time. No crowds, no waking up at dawn to find parking, no rushing to get to the start line on time and no worrying about bad weather at race time! All participants will receive a Roomie’s Homecoming Run medal, and the top three males and females will receive additional prizes.

Join your fellow Lions in this live Zoom call as we sip and explore the fabulous wines selected by Acquistapace's Supermarket in honor of Homecoming! To participate, complete your registration form, pickup your package, tune in and enjoy the evening in the comfort of your own home! For this pairing you will receive 2 bottles of wine and 3 artisan cheeses artfully displayed on a cheeseboard prepared by Acquistapace's. Serves 2-3 people as a tasting. Show your Lion pride by wearing green and gold, and invite friends and family to join in on the fun! Must be 21+ to purchase and participate. Please install Zoom on your computer or phone before the meeting. Zoom is supported by Google Chrome.

Adam Acquistapace, Certified Wine Educator, will guide us through tasting these delicious wines.

Erik Acquistapace, Certified Cheese Professional of the American Society of Cheese, has chosen nuanced, unique, and delicious cheeses artfully arranged on a cheeseboard.

You will pick up your bundle of wines and cheese on Wednesday, October 21 at one of the following: 

  • Acquistapace’s Covington Supermarket (between 1-5 pm)
  • Acquistapace's Wine & Cheese in Mandeville (between 1-5 pm)
  • Acquistapace's Slidell Wine Warehouse (between 2-5 pm)
  • Southeastern Louisiana University's Alumni Center (between 2-5 pm)

Join the Hammond Downtown Development District, Southeastern Alumni Association and other Southeastern groups and organizations for a FREE concert featuring Bulletproof at Cate Square Park from 5 pm to 7:30 pm. Grab your favorite food to-go from a local restaurant before you come then pick a spot in the grass to enjoy the music! Visit the Alumni tent to update your information and subscribe to the Lion’s Roar online newspaper to be entered into a drawing to win some awesome Southeastern swag. The winner of the Paint the Town contest will be announced the event too! Family groups will be able to sit together in marked areas that are 6 feet apart from others. Feel free to bring blankets and lawn chairs. NO TENTS, PLEASE. Admission is free!

Join the LAA and Hammond DDD for the first ever Fall Fest in Friendship Circle! this event feature family fun like Trunk-or-Treating around the Circle, face painting by the SLU Cheerleaders & Lionnettes, opportunities to take pictures with the SLU Student-Athletes & Roomie and more!
