SBDC offers seminars on QuickBooks, HSAs in March

     HAMMOND – Southeastern Louisiana University’s Small Business Development Center is offering seminars on QuickBooks Pro and health savings accounts in March in Hammond and Mandeville. 

     "Understanding QuickBooks Pro" is cohosted by the St. Tammany West Chamber of Commerce.  Led by William Joubert, director of Economic and Business Development at Southeastern, the two-day class is being held March 27 and 29 from 9 a.m. to noon at Southeastern’s St. Tammany Center on Koop Drive in Mandeville.

     Topics will include creating invoices and tracking receivables, generating reports and graphs, entering and paying bills, and tracking and paying sales tax. The cost of the seminar is $150 with discounts offered for Chamber of Commerce members. Pre-payment is required and seating is limited.

     A free “lunch and learn” seminar on health savings accounts is scheduled for March 28, noon to 1 p.m., at the Southeast Louisiana Business Center on Martens Drive in Hammond.  Cohosted by the Hammond Chamber of Commerce and Parish National Bank, the event will provide timely information on utilizing HSAs. 

     Business people attending this seminar will learn about the potential to reduce health insurance costs through utilization of HSAs; HSA pros and cons; how HSAs help employees manage their health care, and more. Since lunch is included, pre-registration is preferred.
