SOUTHEASTERN GENERAL STUDIES AWARD RECIPIENTS – Southeastern Louisiana University President Randy Moffett, far left, and Barbara Allen, dean of Southeastern Louisiana University’s Division of General Studies, far right, congratulate award recipients at the division’s annual honors convocation on April 24. Honorees includes, from left, Sarah Robertson of Hammond, Award for Excellence and Service; Mary Lou Imbraguglio of Hammond, Outstanding Graduate -- Bachelor of General Studies; Peggy Leonard of Franklinton, Outstanding Graduate -- Associate in General Studies and Undergraduate Junior Academic Excellence Award; and Beverly Fries of Brookhaven, Miss., Dean’s Award for Academic Excellence – Bachelor of General Studies.


     HAMMOND – Beverly Fries of Brookhaven, Miss., and Wayne Stumpf of Hammond received the Dean’s Award, the top honor in Southeastern Louisiana University’s Division of General Studies, at its honors convocation on April 24.

     Dean Barbara Allen presented Fries with the Dean’s Award for Academic Excellence in the general studies bachelor’s degree program, while Stumpf received the honor for the associate degree program.

     Also at the annual recognition ceremony, the division’s Academic Awards for Excellence were awarded to Julie Mercante of Hammond (Undergraduate Sophomore Award), Peggy Leonard of Franklinton and Tricia Rigsby of Holden (Undergraduate Junior Awards); and Helene Gottschalck of Hammond, Amanda Murry of Albany, and Anecia Samons of Hammond (Undergraduate Senior Awards).

     Leonard also received the Associate in General Studies Outstanding Graduate honor while Mary Lou Imbraguglio of Hammond received the Bachelor of General Studies Outstanding Graduate award. Sara H. Robertson of Hammond received the division’s Award for Excellence and Service.

     The division also recognized its students inducted into the 13 Club and Phi Kappa Phi honor societies and academic honor list students.
