SBDC hosts loss prevention seminar Oct. 28

     HAMMOND – Southeastern Louisiana University’s Small Business Development Center will host a seminar on security and loss prevention on Tuesday, Oct. 28.

     Offered in conjunction with Hammond Area Economic and Industrial Development District and Hammond Chamber of Commerce, the seminar will help businesses identify and develop ways to avoid or minimize loss, said Sandy Summers, SBDC assistant director. 

     “This seminar is designed to sensitize you to potential security problems and give practical solutions,” Summers said.

     Topics will include preventing shoplifting, burglary and robbery, employee theft, store layout and design, surveillance technology, credit card schemes, bad checks, and counterfeit bills.

     The seminar will be held at the Southeast Louisiana Business Center on Martens Drive in Hammond from 5-7 p.m. Cost is $10, and discounts are available to chamber members.
