Southeastern Art Gallery spring exhibit schedule features faculty, student artists

HAMMOND – A variety of exhibits featuring art by Southeastern Louisiana University faculty and students will highlight the university’s spring gallery schedule.
The January-May schedule of exhibits sponsored by the Department of Visual Arts opened with a display of works by faculty at the Contemporary Art Gallery located in East Strawberry Stadium. Available for viewing through Feb. 26, the show features sculptures, photography and other works by several faculty artists.
The department’s Student Exhibition will open with a reception from 5-7 p.m. on March 10 and will close April 1.
The visual arts senior exhibition, in which graduating students display their best work, will be held April 21-May 15 at the gallery.
The Contemporary Art Gallery is open 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. weekdays, with extended hours until 8 p.m. on Wednesdays.
The Sims Memorial Library Gallery will also be the site for a number of exhibits during the semester, including the Palmetto Press Student Exhibition through Feb. 4; the LIGO Science Exhibition Feb. 9-24; and the Visual Arts Student Exhibition April 1-30.
