Guest pianist scheduled at Southeastern March 15

     HAMMOND – Guest artist Noel Engebretson, professor of piano at the University of Alabama, will perform a recital at Southeastern Louisiana University on Monday, March 15.
     Scheduled at 7:30 p.m. in the Pottle Music Auditorium, the free recital will feature a variety of pieces by Amadeus Mozart and Franz Peter Schubert. The program will include a special tribute to Robert Schumann and Frederic Chopin in recognition of the 200th anniversary of their births.
     Engebretson has been on the faculty of the University of Alabama since 1991. He has held positions at the College of the Desert in Palm Desert, Calif., Cerritos College in Norwalk, Calif., and Idyllwild School of Music and the Arts in Los Angeles. A prize winner and finalist in several national and international piano competitions, he has performed in two concert tours of China and across the United States as a soloist and chamber musician.
     Engrebretson has been a soloist with the Minnesota Orchestra, the Rochester Symphony, the Lawton Philharmonic and the St. Paul Civic Symphony.
