HAMMOND – The Southeastern Louisiana University African American Alumni Chapter (AAAC) will host its annual Alumni Social on Friday, Oct. 22 at 8 p.m.
Featuring the Michael Foster Project, the event will be held in the Student Union Ballroom on Southeastern’s campus. Tickets are $15 per person, with the proceeds going toward an endowed scholarship fund, through Southeastern’s Development Foundation, that is awarded annually to African American students at Southeastern.
Since its inception, the Southeastern AAAC has dedicated itself to the needs of African American students and alumni, Southeastern faculty and staff, as well as its friends and supporters, said President-Elect Aron Walker.
“Through our efforts, scholarships have been awarded to worthy Southeastern students; diversity issues on campus and in the community have been addressed, as well as the creation of quality programming to increase alumni involvement,” Walker said. “It is our hope that alumni will purchase tickets to this worthwhile event. We promise an exciting night with lots of food, great music and old friends.”
