Southeastern LSBDC to host seminar on business insurance

HAMMOND – The Louisiana Small Business Development Center (LSBDC) at Southeastern Louisiana University, along with the Hammond Chamber of Commerce, will offer the seminar “From Liability to Stability: Insuring Your Small Business.”
The seminar is scheduled Tuesday, March 1, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Southeast Louisiana Business Center in Hammond.
“Businesses are exposed to a variety of risks and should take the necessary steps to mitigate risk,” said Sandy Summers, assistant director of the Southeastern SBDC. “One of the most valuable risk management tools is insurance.”
Summers said topics address why businesses need protection, assessing the level of risk, how to compare coverage, how rates are derived, and how insurance can improve credit ratings.
