Southeastern College of Education honors top students

Southeastern Louisiana University’s College of Education students were celebrated recently at the college’s annual spring honors convocation.

Southeastern Louisiana University’s College of Education students were celebrated recently at the college’s annual spring honors convocation.

The college announced the recipients of departmental honors and includes the following:

AMITE – Kyron Thomas, Lions Connected completer.

BATON ROUGE – Grace Drummond, Outstanding Teacher Candidate Award in Early Childhood Education, PK-3 and International Baccalaureate Research Award.

CENTRAL – Lauren Graham, Resident Student Teacher of the Year finalist.

COVINGTON – Kenndy Loyd, Resident Student Teacher of the Year finalist; Catherine Paille, Outstanding Teacher Candidate Award in Science Education; Moriah Wrinkles, Board of Regents Future Educator Honor Roll.

DENHAM SPRINGS – Madelyn Courville, Resident Student Teacher of the Year finalist; Presley Pourciau, Resident Student Teacher of the Year finalist; Grace Reynerson, Outstanding Teacher Candidate Award in English Education and Resident Student Teacher of the Year finalist.

HAMMOND – Natalie Ioannou, Outstanding Teacher Candidate Award in Early Childhood Education, PK-3 and Resident Student Teacher of the Year finalist.

KENTWOOD – Abby Edwards, Resident Student Teacher of the Year finalist; Sydney Lee, Board of Regents Future Educator Honor Roll and Resident Student Teacher of the Year finalist.

LULING – Erin Hicks, Outstanding Teacher Candidate Award in Math Education.

MANDEVILLE – Alexandra Jaeger, Outstanding Teacher Candidate Award in Music Education; Michael Lucio, Lions Connected completer; Kumar Patel, Lions Connected completer; Grace Saizan, Outstanding Teacher Candidate Award in Health and Physical Education and Resident Student Teacher of the Year finalist.

PONCHATOULA – Chad Boh, Roman Heleniak Award for Social Studies Education; Grace Perilloux, Resident Student Teacher of the Year finalist; and Briana Riley, Lions Connected completer.

SLIDELL – Zoe Nettles, Resident Student Teacher of the Year finalist.

SPRINGFIELD – Claire Folks, Outstanding Teacher Candidate Award in Middle School Education, 4-8.

WALKER – Lauren Efferson, Lions Connected completer.
