Elizabeth Rollins is an English Instructor in the Department of English and World Languages. After earning her Master’s degree in English: Creative Writing from Southeastern Louisiana University, she taught high school English while working toward her full teaching certification through the state of Louisiana. For the English Content Knowledge Praxis exam, she received distinguished recognition for testing in the top 15% of all current and previous test-takers in 2012, having scored 197 out of 200. Since graduating with her Master’s degree in 2011, she has taught elementary, junior high, and high school courses (including Advanced Placement English Language and Composition), in addition to working as a professional writer and editor for a national magazine and the Louisiana Department of Education. As an English Instructor at Southeastern, Ms. Rollins specializes in freshman composition courses, developing a unique learning style for students from all backgrounds to be successful writers. For her American Literature courses, she focuses on the historical context and larger scope of the American voice and identity, connecting those voices to our modern experience.
