Kimberly Strickland is an instructor in the Department of English and World Languages, where she teaches dual enrollment composition courses offered online in partnership with high schools across the state. A two-time graduate of Southeastern, she earned her Bachelor’s degree in English with a concentration in Literature and Language in 2014 and her Master’s degree in English with a focus in Rhetoric and Composition in 2016.
Rhetoric and Composition, with a particular interest in Victorian literature. Currently, her research explores accessibility in online learning and the unique challenges and opportunities that come with teaching dual enrollment students. Ms. Strickland is passionate about helping early-college writers find their academic voice and strengthen their critical thinking skills. She works to build student confidence as they take on college-level writing in an ever-changing digital learning environment. One of her key accomplishments has been developing and refining a composition curriculum specifically designed for dual enrollment. Most recently, she has begun incorporating AI tools into her courses to support students’ growth as writers and thinkers. Her approach emphasizes thoughtful engagement with new technologies while upholding academic integrity and promoting deeper analysis.
