Mrs. Berner, is an Instructor of Marketing at Southeastern Louisiana University. She teaches courses in Advertising and Integrated Brand Promotion, Foundations of Marketing Design, Digital Marketing & Social Media, and Advanced Digital Communications. Her classes emphasize hands-on, client-based projects that integrate creative design, strategic communication, and digital marketing tactics, giving students experience with tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, and Google Analytics.
Before teaching, Berner built a career in strategic healthcare marketing, business development, and event management, serving as Marketing/Business Development Manager at North Oaks Health System and as Director of Event and Conference Services at Southeastern. She led award-winning campaigns, launched new service lines, and oversaw large-scale university and community events.
Her research focuses on experiential learning and bridging academia with industry, with two 2025 peer-reviewed publications on integrating industry experts into the classroom. She received the Southeastern Louisiana University President’s Award for Excellence in Staff Service (2021). Passionate about student engagement, Berner advises the Women in Business and American Marketing Association student groups and is developing a Study Abroad program in International Marketing in London in 2026. She also serves on the North Oaks Foundation Board of Directors and the Tangipahoa Voluntary Council on Aging Board.
Mrs. Berner’s expertise includes digital marketing, advertising strategy, marketing design, public relations, and event management, with a focus on experiential, client-based learning. Her research interests center on bridging academia and industry through guest speaker integration, experiential learning frameworks, digital communications, and enhancing student career readiness.
