Dr. Brandi Decoux is an Assistant Professor of Kinesiology in the Department of Kinesiology and Health Studies at Southeastern Louisiana University. She earned her Ph.D. in Kinesiology with a concentration in Biomechanics from Auburn University, her M.S. in Kinesiology with a concentration in Biomechanics from Texas Woman’s University, and her B.S. in Kinesiology with a concentration in Health and Physical Education from Louisiana Tech University.

At Southeastern, Dr. Decoux teaches undergraduate and graduate biomechanics courses as well as the department’s graduate-level applied statistical methods course. She also directs the Biomechanics and Motor Behavior Laboratory and mentors undergraduate and graduate students pursuing research experience in human movement science.

Dr. Decoux’s research focuses on lower extremity biomechanics in athletic and clinical populations with the goal of enhancing performance, reducing injury risk, and improving rehabilitation outcomes. She has published in peer-reviewed journals such as Sports Biomechanics, Sports, the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine, and the Journal of Physical Therapy Science. Dr. Decoux has also presented her work at regional, national, and international conferences, including meetings of the Southeast Chapter of the American College of Sports Medicine, the American Society of Biomechanics, and the International Society of
Posture and Gait Research.
