Oliver Ljustina is an instructor in the Department of Biological Sciences specializing in herpetology and urban ecology. His research is primarily focused on understanding how reptiles and amphibians interact with urban systems, with a particular interest in trophic dynamics. Oliver earned his bachelor’s degree at Florida International University in 2014 where he examined changes in reptile and amphibian community composition along urban rural gradients before moving to southern Louisiana to pursue his master’s degree at Southeastern. He began working as an instructor in the Department upon completing his degree in 2018 and has since published several articles relating to the field of herpetology.

Area of Expertise
Herpetology, with studies employing geometric morphometrics and shape analysis, stable isotope analysis, and ecological modelling largely in the context of urban ecosystems.
