Dr. Patrick McDowell is professor in the Department of Computer Science. His research focuses on the reinforcement learning and robotics. His Bachelor’s degree is from the University of Idaho in Computer Science. He holds a Master’s degree from the University of Southern Mississippi and a Ph.D. from Louisiana State University, both in Computer Science. He previously worked as a staff programmer, lead scientist, and principle investigator for Planning Systems Inc. and as a research scientist for the Naval Research Lab.
The courses he commonly teaches are Data Structures, Operating Systems, and Computer Gaming. His graduate courses usually focus on machine learning and reinforcement learning.
