First-Year SuccessDeJuan "DJ" James is an academic advisor in the Office for First-Year Success and a double graduate of Southeastern Louisiana University, where he earned a Master of Education in Curriculum & Instruction. A passionate theatre enthusiast, he is the faculty advisor for Southeastern’s chapter of Alpha Psi Omega, the National Theatre Honor Society, and has had several of his plays produced locally. He received the Dr. Marvin L. Yates Award of Excellence in 2022 and was recognized for his campus involvement as a former Orientation Leader and Resident Assistant. He loves to represent Southeastern and is happy to tell you that 'Hey Ya' is the greatest song of all time.
