Yue (Abby) Yang, Ph. D.

Dr. Yue (Abby) Yang earned her Ph.D. in Communication from the University of Southern California, her M.A. in Media and Cultural Analysis (with Distinction) from Loughborough University in the United Kingdom, and her B.A. in English and French from Sun Yat-sen University in China.
Her research explores digital strategic communication with a focus on legitimacy and legitimation in times of social and cultural change. Her work has been recognized with the Top Student Paper Award and the Outstanding Dissertation Award from the National Communication Association (NCA).
Apart from her academic work, Dr. Yang has helped design and implement project-based, intercultural educational programs at a social enterprise dedicated to international education. These programs feature themes such as game design, social entrepreneurship, storytelling and leadership.
