He credits CAB with preparing him for his career by giving him a diverse range of skills relating to his position, and an improved ability to work as a team member. He says he learned to communicate within a team, to take responsibilities outside his position, and gained an ability to contribute to a team in any way possible. In addition to interpersonal skills, Victor says he learned to work with tight deadlines and how to quickly problem solve in high-pressure situations. Today, Victor uses the skills he gained in CAB daily as he tackles the wide range of jobs he is tasked with in his job.

 McKenzie Tolson

McKenzie Tolson

Position, Organization:  Owner, Bra la Vie in Hammond, LA
Major/Graduation: B.S. General Studies, with a focus in Marketing2018

McKenzie Tolson held several leadership positions with CAB in her two years on the Executive Board. McKenzie is now the proud owner of Bra La Vie, a Fine Lingerie Boutique and Bra Fitting Salon in Hammond Sqaure Mall. Bra La Vie’s mission is to make every woman feel beautiful in their own skin.

During her time with CAB she learned a lot about time management and organization, as well as a lot about marketing. Working there taught her about stuff that she didn’t even realize she would use every single day, from simple things such as how to use an online marketing software, Canva, to bigger things like how to respond professionally to customers and/or superiors. Working at CAB was more than a student worker position, because she learned about herself and what her strengths were so she could apply those to any job she had in the future. “Honestly it is one of the greatest places I’ve ever worked.”, said McKenzie.
