Strategic Planning Update

At its meeting last week, the University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors approved Southeastern’s new strategic plan, Vision 2025. As you know from recent campus communications, all of the information and material related to the development and creation of Vision 2025, including the work of the University Planning Council, is available on the Planning Portal website.

If you have not previously done so, I encourage you to visit the Planning Portal and peruse Vision 2025. The priorities included in this new strategic plan will guide our future efforts and provide a framework for new initiatives.

Accordingly, division heads will be working in their respective areas of responsibility to ensure alignment of efforts and resources with Vision 2025 strategic priorities. As an example, in the next few days, division heads will begin distributing information regarding the budget planning process for the upcoming 2019-2020 fiscal year. As part of this process, budget unit heads will be asked to identify critical needs based on Vision 2025 strategic priorities and/or accreditation requirements.

A great deal of effort by many individuals went into the development of Vision 2025. I look forward to working with faculty, staff, students, alumni, supporters and community partners as we bring to life this new vision for our university.
