Message From the President

There is much to celebrate regarding Fall 2019 enrollment thanks to the efforts of dedicated faculty and staff across the entire university!

The Fall 2019 freshman class was more than 2.2% larger than the previous year’s freshman class, for a total of 2,733 students. Greater numbers of highly-qualified students are choosing Southeastern, and overall ACT scores for the incoming class are higher. Nearly 800 of our new students have an ACT of 24 or higher, an increase of 7.4%.

Our recruitment efforts emphasize the exceptional quality and value of a Southeastern degree and the incredible caring environment we provide. As a result, we are garnering more and more interest from prospective new students and saw record attendance at each of our on-campus recruitment events this past year, including a 55% increase in participation in Lion Pride Preview events compared to the previous year.

Our freshman to sophomore retention rate also increased to 68 percent - a marked improvement over prior years, reflecting the concerted efforts of many faculty and staff.

Southeastern is a great place to be, and all the credit goes to our people for creating an attractive, inviting and caring environment, focused on the success of our students.
