Virtual Spring Break

April 08, 2020

Need a break? How about Spring Break – “virtual” Spring Break that is.

Everyone has been working hard during this transition to remote teaching, learning and working. It’s time for all of us to take a pause, get some rest and catch up on everything else that is going on in our lives.

For faculty and students, Spring Break officially begins this Friday, April 10, and ends the following Friday, April 17. Remote delivery of classes will resume Monday, April 20.

Dining services through the Mane Dish will remain open for “to go” meals during the Break.

The student computer lab on campus will also be open during Spring Break, beginning on Tuesday, April 14. Depending on student demand, the hours for other days may vary with dates and times to be posted at the location of the lab and on the university coronavirus information webpage.

For staff, “virtual” offices will be closed Friday, April 10, through Monday, April 13, and will “reopen” Tuesday, April 14. Staff previously identified as essential for on-campus operations should continue to follow the directives of their supervisors.

It has been three weeks since we shifted to our new online world. I am proud of the effort we’ve all put into making a challenging situation as positive as possible. When I see how well the transition is going overall, it makes me glad to be part of this Southeastern Family, and I’m happy that you are as well.

Please enjoy the break and use the time to refresh, reenergize and to reconnect (virtually) with family and friends. In accordance with CDC guidance and the Governor’s Executive Orders, remember to continue practicing social distancing and personal protective measures.

I know that we all want to be back together on campus, and I hope this short video will remind you of what is to come. Until then, stay safe and healthy and know that my thoughts are with you and your families during these challenging times.
