Racism Cannot Divide Us

June 1, 2020

At this time of great angst and uncertainty brought about by the disease that is COVID-19, we cannot allow the disease of racism to divide us. So many of us are challenged to understand the death of George Floyd, and cry out for equality, fairness and justice for all. That is the very heart of what it is to be American, that each and every person must be respected, valued and treated with dignity.

Likewise, one of Southeastern’s core values is caring. As members of the Southeastern family, we bring this attribute to life in the way we value and treat others, irrespective of our differences. In these trying and unusual times, I want you to know that each and every one of you matters at Southeastern.

I can’t wait to see you on campus again soon. Until then, be safe, seek to understand someone different from yourself, and as always, LION UP!

Thank you,

John L. Crain
