CIO Announcement

It is my pleasure to announce that Dr. John Burris has accepted the position of Chief Information Officer. His appointment is subject to approval by the University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors.

I want to thank the members of the broad-based search committee for their work screening applicants and interviewing candidates for this important position. I also want to thank Sam Domiano, Vice President for Administration and Finance, who chaired the committee.

A familiar face at Southeastern since 2012, Dr. Burris is an Associate Professor of Computer Science and a member of the graduate faculty, having most recently served as Department Head of Computer Science.

Dr. Burris brings a combination of significant technology knowledge and extensive campus experience to the CIO position which he has held on an interim basis since the beginning of the Fall Semester. I know everyone joins me in congratulating Dr. Burris and wishing him continued success in this role.
