Lion Pride Preview is the primary recruitment event for both prospective students and family members. Students are able to learn more about our academic programs, admissions process, and campus life by choosing “select-a-sessions”. They have the opportunity to meet with campus departments and take a look inside residential housing.

Academic College Presentation, Presenters/Tours and Academic College Table Browse Hosts (separate presenter and table set-up staffing needed)
Each college will be provided a meeting space to hold presentations. One (1) presentation will be conducted by Dean or representative as overview of college. Colleges can breakdown into subsections after general information about college.
This will replace the second Academic Presentation from previous year. Each academic college will have a table in the union after the academic presentation. This will allow students who are interested in another college opportunity to gain information without a second presentation.
Scholars Showcase is an event designed to celebrate the prospective scholarship students’ academic achievements. The event will include a formal dinner in the Student Union Ballroom and special recognition of scholarship recipients. Deans, Department Heads, Faculty and Staff dine with scholarship awarded students and their guests.
Tuesdays / Wednesdays / Thursdays during the Spring Semester. These events are held in the evening (6-8pm)

Making personal connection between students and faculty / staff. This critical recruiting event is a proven yield event for many of our scholarship recipients in their decision to select Southeastern.
This event is a lunch and learn in which local high school counselors will receive updated information about programs, opportunities, and resources Southeastern can offer their students. They will have the opportunity to meet with campus departments and explore our beautiful, progressive campus.
During the Fall Semester
Deans and Department Heads
Making personal connection with high school counselors. Deans will be invited for presentations and Department Heads will be invited to lunch.
The Homeschool recruiting event is tailored for homeschooled high school students and their families. This purpose is to review the homeschool admission requirements with the students and to introduce them to opportunities and resources available to them at Southeastern. Event will include lunch, presentations and campus tours.
During the Fall Semester
Center for Student Excellence presentation requested.
Southeastern is the host for Southeast Louisiana District Literary Rally testing. Students participating in this event include those from the greater Northshore and New Orleans area.
During the Spring Semester
Rally test administrators for each subject as determined by the Department Heads.
These events are unique to each of our five academic colleges, and they are to celebrate students who have committed to attending Southeastern. Students and guests will be able to meet with faculty and staff from our degree programs as they prepare for their time as a Southeastern student.
During the Spring Semester
Admissions staff / Separate Academic Colleges, each college will have its own event.
Freshman Orientation is required of all first time beginning freshman post high school and any transfer student with less than 30 hours of credit.
Typically the week before each semester begins. This is typically a one-day program.
First Year Success Staff and Non Academic Departments
Academic advising and presentations on opportunities and resources available to students.
All Orientation dates can be found on the Academic Calendar as they are set years in advance.
Scholars Orientation is for all students receiving the Beginning Freshman Scholarship. They are given the opportunity to register courses before any other freshman.
During the Spring Semester, typically during the week of Spring Break
