Why did you choose to attend Southeastern?

Southeastern was an in-state school, close to home but far enough away to give the
college experience I was looking for. I liked that the classes and campus felt more
personal than some of the other in-state campuses I visited. They were also known
to have a good business department.

What is your fondest Southeastern memory?

Studying abroad in Costa Rica while in the MBA program.

How did your Southeastern degree prepare you for success in your career?

Going to Southeastern prepared me by giving me the opportunity to learn through real
world experiences and application while being influenced by great professors that
helped guide me to success.

What unexpected experience or event shaped and/or influenced your current professional life?

I left a high paying position as an employee for a large company in order to pursue
a leadership role and ended up being fired. At the time this felt like a failure,
but looking back, I realize that experience opened the door to bigger and better opportunities.
It taught me that learning through failure can often be a catapult to success.

What advice would you give to a driven college student about to enter the "real world"?

The key to success is determination and getting up when you fall.

What advice should they ignore?

They should ignore any advice from anyone saying no or that they can’t do something.
Pursuing something, even if you fail, that will help you grow.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

Traveling to new places, attending music festivals and entertaining. I also enjoy
rehabbing old homes and anything real estate related.

Do you have a fun or interesting fact that you would like to share about yourself?

I am a cousin of famed New Orleans novelist, Anne Rice.
