2012 Distinguished Alumnus: Dr. Norman Spivey

Norman Spivey

Dr. Norman Spivey, a 1982 graduate with a bachelor’s degree in music, is a member
of the music faculty at Penn State University. He teaches singing and courses in voice
pedagogy. He holds a master’s degree from the University if Michigan. He was awarded
a Fulbright grant to study in Paris, where he made numerous concert and opera engagements.
While in France, he was awarded the Harriet Hale Wolley Award as artist-in-residence
at the Foundation des Etats-Unis. He serves on the board of the National Association
of Teachers of Singing (NATS).
