Charla Buford Johnson of Gonzales is a 2006 graduate of Southeastern’s master’s program
in nursing. She was recognized for her work in the field of orthopedic care and nursing
services. A member of the Nurses Research Council, Johnson has received a number of
awards for her work, including the Clinical Excellence Award for Nursing Practice
and the Nurse Excellence presented by Baton Rouge District Nurses Association. In
2010, she received the Nurse of the Year Award by the Louisiana State Nurses Association.
Last year she was named Distinguished Alumnus of Our Lady of the Lake School of Nursing,
where she received her diploma in nursing.
