2010 Distinguished Alumnus: David Kinnison

 

David Kinnison

Mr. David Kinnison is Vice President and Treasurer of the Shaw Group, Inc. of Baton Rouge, a Fortune 500 company with more than 28,000 employees worldwide. There he deals with the company's worldwide treasury and finance operations, establishes and maintains bank relations and a wide range of other duties.

A Hammond native and 1988 Southeastern graduate in accounting, he is a certified public accountant and certified treasury professional. In addition prior to working for Shaw, he formed and managed his own company.  Additionally, he worked for Pontchartrain Services Corporation in Covington as treasurer and financial analyst and as an accountant with CNG Producing Company in New Orleans. Prior to joining the Shaw Group, he worked with Ocean Energy, Inc. of Baton Rouge.

He is the son of two former Southeastern accounting professors, Jimmie and Ruth Kinnison. Mr. Kinnison and his wife Shonda, also a Southeastern alumnus, are the parents of two daughters Courtney and Taylor.  The entire Kinnison family are avid Southeastern sports fans.
