Program Completion Application, Fees, and Deadlines

All students planning to earn their degree must submit a program completion application regardless of whether or not they plan to participate in the commencement ceremony.

Program Completion (Graduation Application)

Step 1: Apply for Program Completion

The Application for Program Completion is your first step to receiving your academic credential(s). This includes undergraduate and graduate degrees and certificates.

Effective Summer 2025, the program completion application is available in Workday.  You must complete your application before the deadlines listed below to avoid paying a late fee.

If you have questions or encounter any issues when applying, please call the Office of the Registrar at (985) 549-2244.

  • Students must obtain a cap and a gown from the University Bookstore for Commencement. This cost is paid separately.
  • Students who need to change their major or minors after submitting their program completion application should email [email protected].

Step 3: Southeastern Exit Survey

The Southeastern Exit Survey is a two-part survey that must be completed during your last semester.

You will receive the first part of the survey via email from the Office of Institutional Research and Assessment at the beginning of the semester you intend to graduate, provided you have applied for program completion for that intended semester. The second part of the survey will be sent to you via email about two weeks before graduation.

Failure to complete the two-part survey may result in a delay in receiving your diploma.
