What is Embedded Tutoring?
Group tutoring sessions that are hosted by a trained Embedded Tutor (ET). The ET attends and assists during class time. The ET will host 2 or more outside group tutoring sessions a week. Sessions are free and no appointment is necessary.
Why attend Embedded Tutoring?
Students who attend Embedded Tutoring sessions score on average 16 points higher than students who do not attend an Embedded Tutoring Session.
What do our clients say about Embedded Tutoring sessions?
I liked that the tutoring session was set up as an extra class. It helped me to be more committed to studying.
I loved how my tutor helped me solve problems without giving me the answer. She gave us the opportunity to figure it out ourselves through a step-by-step process.
My ET was very knowledgeable in the subject matter. She created a positive learning environment. She was able to explain the rigorous material to students in a direct, yet simplified way.
My ET helped me so much! He really understands the material and effectively explains things in a way that makes sense.
ET Supported Courses
For Spring 2026, the Tinsley Learning Center has geared up with the Chemistry and Physics Department to offer Embedded Tutoring for general chemistry II and both organic chemistry classes. Tutors will attend assigned classes, assist during class and offer multiple weekly, outside tutoring sessions for the course.
