Mission Statement
The mission of the Foreign Language Resource Center (FLRC) is to provide the students, faculty, and community of Southeastern Louisiana University with a safe, encouraging space for the promotion, study, and teaching of world languages and cultures.
Succeeding in a World Language course at Southeastern
The facility offers
- A free placement test for students wishing to test out of introductory courses in French, Spanish, German, Italian, or Latin— Click HERE for more information. The test is given in TEC Room 2015.
- Drop-in tutoring and conversational partners for students interested in practicing and/or improving their language skills. Click HERE to schedule a tutoring session
- 35 student computer stations for language practice, studying, or completing homework
- A meeting room for student group organizations and study groups
- FREE language learning software and reading material for practicing and improving language skills in French, Spanish, German, Italian, Latin, and/or English as a Second Language

Mango
All students are encouraged to come by and practice their languages skills using Mango, a FREE language learning software.

All University faculty and K-12 World Language teachers may reserve the FLRC for class times by calling the center or sending an e-mail.
The Department of World Languages and Cultures offers a Bachelor of Arts in World Languages with concentrations French, French Education, Spanish, Spanish Education and Dual Language with minors in French, German, Italian, Latin, Spanish, Francophone and Creole Studies, and Hispanic Ethnic Studies.
We also offer an undergraduate certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages.

Monday -Thursday 8:00am to 5:00pm (Spring and Fall)
Monday- Thursday 9:00am to 2:00pm (Summer)
