Undergraduate Degree Programs

Southeastern offers bachelor’s programs leading to Louisiana teacher certification in 15 certification areas. 

In addition to Louisiana teacher certification, Southeastern is one of only seven U.S. universities to offer the International Baccalaureate (IB) certification program. IB certification courses for the Primary Years Programme and the Diploma Programme may be taken concurrently with Louisiana teacher certification courses.

Curricula

The following six programs are offered through the Department of Teaching and Learning:

• Early Childhood Education (Grades PK-3, All Subjects)
• Elementary Education (Grades 1-5, All Subjects)*
• Middle School Education (Grades 4-8, Subject-Specific)*
  • English/Language Arts
  • Mathematics
  • Science
  • Social Studies

*Program available as dual certification to include the elementary education or middle school education certification and mild/moderate special education.
