What are your hobbies?
I love board games, puzzles, visiting museums, trying new restaurants, and planning our next vacation!
What advice would you give students who are struggling academically?
I'd encourage students to realize they are not alone in their struggles. Other students may be struggling, so forming a study group can be very helpful.
The step that you have been hesitant to take academically (visit the Tinsley Learning Center, go to extra Math Lab hours, or visit your instructor during office hours) might be the thing that makes the difference in your academic progress!
What do you love about Southeastern?
Faculty and staff across campus truly care about students' success. You feel the genuine care and compassion from the Southeastern family. I love the southern charm of our campus as well!
What's a fun fact about you?
Growing up, I lived in many places, but Tangipahoa Parish has always been "home." I even lived in Egypt for four years!
Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from Louisiana Tech University
Master of Science in Counseling from Southeastern Louisiana University
Amanda joined the Southeastern family in 2007, working in the Office of Admissions and the Office of the Registrar. In 2022, she joined Southeastern’s College of Honors & Excellence.
Previously, Amanda worked in public schools as a preschool and kindergarten teacher. During undergrad, she was involved in academic and social organizations and worked with her university's residential life.
