About:
Mrs. Allain is an Instructor of Mathematics in the Department of Mathematics. She earned a B.S. in Math Education from the University of Alabama in 1997 and a M.S. in Math Education with a concentration in Applied Statistics from North Carolina State University in 2001.

Teaching Focus:
Mrs. Allain regularly teaches Applied College Algebra and Introductory Statistics. Her teaching philosophy centers on fostering critical thinking, developing mathematical fluency, and empowering students to confidently apply their knowledge in order to achieve sustained success in their academic and professional goals.

Area of Expertise

Mrs. Allain enjoys developing engaging materials that bridges gaps in prior learning and helps students build confidence. She prioritizes making connections to the real-world to ensure the material remains meaningful and accessible to all learners. She actively explores diverse interests, including art history, cultural anthropology, Python, and environmental innovations. She shares this interdisciplinary curiosity in the classroom, encouraging students to seek out unexpected connections between quantitative reasoning and the world around them.
