Austin O’Brien, M.A.

Austin O'Brien is a Lecturer in the Department of English and World Languages. His association with Southeastern Louisiana University ties back to his time as a student, as he received both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in English at our university. After completing his time as a student, he has turned his attention to being on our faculty to help future students hone their writing skills. Having students develop their writing capabilities is a priority in his classes, as he works to ensure students understand how to properly write academic essays through expanding arguments to include intellectual analysis of a variety of topics. One of the main goals of his class is to help students develop their essays to potentially get them published into our department publications: The Manchac Review and The Pick. He believes that anyone has the capability to be an excellent writer with practice and proper planning.
