Benjamin Diller received a Master of Fine Arts Degree in Studio Art from the University of California, Davis, and is an Instructor and Undergraduate Coordinator in the Department of Visual Art + Design.
He teaches Drawing classes of all levels. He believes in teaching the fundamentals of observational drawing through a variety of approaches, while also encouraging students to follow their own path on their creative journey in art and design.
In his art studio practice, he works across various disciplines in both two and three dimensions. His projects are informed by observational drawing, memory, physical forms found and fabricated from the environment. His work creates a dialogue with craft and juxtaposition, by presenting forms that can be perceived for their aesthetic or implied functional elegance.
He has received an Artist Career Advancement Grant from the Louisiana Division of the Arts. He has exhibited his artwork locally, regionally and nationally. His work is in collections locally and nationwide.
