Bruce A. Craft is an Instructor of English. He routinely teaches honors courses on Southern Cultural Identity and Southern Media, as well as American Literature, Professional and Technical Writing, and English Composition. His most recent publications include an article on the philosopher Emmanuel Levinas, an article on the ethics of AI in writing pedagogy, and a book chapter on Southern foodways. His current project is a monograph on the Louisiana Redbones. He routinely presents at regional and national conferences on issues pertaining to Southern culture. He serves as Editor of Louisiana Folklore Miscellany, the oldest print journal devoted to folklore and folklife in the South. He holds a bachelor’s degree in English and History from Tulane University, a master’s degree in Folklife and Southern Culture from Northwestern State University, and a doctorate in jurisprudence from Louisiana State University. He is active in the Southeastern campus community and served two terms as Faculty Senate President. In his spare time, he can be found riding his tractor and tending to the animals on his farm.

His research interests include Southern Literature and Culture, Folklore and Folklife, the Media Ecology of the South, and the Intersection of Literature and Philosophy.
