Claire Cuccia is a Communication Instructor and Faculty Academic Advisor in the Department of Communication and Media Studies at Southeastern Louisiana University. She teaches courses including The Art of Public Speaking and Interpersonal Communication.

A proud “Lion for Life,” Ms. Cuccia earned both her Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication and her Master of Arts in Strategic Communication from Southeastern Louisiana University. Her commitment to excellence in teaching has been recognized by the Center for Faculty Excellence, where she was honored with the Praise the Pride award—an accolade based on nominations from her students.

Area of Expertise

Ms. Cuccia is passionate about equipping students with real-world communication skills through hands-on learning. She takes great joy in guiding students as they grow in confidence, refine their public speaking abilities, and strengthen their interpersonal communication skills. Her teaching philosophy centers on fostering a supportive classroom environment where students feel encouraged to be authentic, feel inspired, and apply what they learn to future professional and personal endeavors.

Above all, Ms. Cuccia values building meaningful connections with her students and is humbled to watch them thrive both personally and academically. Ms. Cuccia aspires to be a light on campus and loves to see her students shine!
