Samples is an instructor in the Department of Biological Sciences. Before joining the faculty, Corey completed his Master’s in Biology with Southeastern where he explored the interaction between invasive wild pigs and native mammal communities. His work has been published in Ecology as part of the Snapshot USA 2021 project, which surveyed mammals all around the United States. In addition to mammals, he has experience working with amphibians, reptiles, fish, and insects along with knowledge of wildlife management and trapping. His teaching involves introductory biology lectures and labs, where he strives to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of the natural world within his students.

Area of Expertise
Community Ecology, with a focus on invasive species interactions. His expertise also includes knowledge of trapping techniques for a variety of taxonomic groups and computational modeling.
