Craig Coelho

Lecturer of Choral Activities

Craig Coelho is the Lecturer of Choral Activities at Southeastern Louisiana University where he conducts the University Choir and Northshore Chorale. With a career spanning thirteen years in choral education and over two decades in music ministry, he brings a rich and diverse background to his work. Most recently, Craig served as the Choral Director at Gilbert High School and the Director of Music Ministries at The Episcopal Church of St. Simon & St. Jude in Columbia, South Carolina. During his tenure at Gilbert High School, groups under Coelho's direction consistently earned superior ratings at state events and were selected for the South Carolina All-State Chorus and ACDA Honor Choirs. A dedicated leader within the field, he is the Immediate-Past President of the South Carolina chapter of the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA). He has also served as the SC All-State Chorus Weekend Coordinator and Vocal Director for the Tri-District Arts Consortium Summer Intensive. Craig holds a Bachelor of Music, with an emphasis in Music Education and a Vocal Performance Certificate, and a Master of Music in Choral Conducting from the University of South Carolina. He is currently a doctoral student in choral conducting at Louisiana State University.
