Cristina Molina is Gallery Director and Professor of New Media and Animation in the Department of Visual Art + Design. At Southeastern, she curates exhibitions for the SLU Contemporary Art Gallery and teaches courses in New Media and Animation at all levels. Her research—focused on identity, loss, and disappearing landscapes—spans moving imagery, video installation, and performance. Molina’s artistic practice has been recognized with honors such as the Fulbright Scholar Award, the Foundation for Contemporary Arts Research Grant, and twice with Southeastern’s President’s Award for Artistic Excellence.
Alongside her individual practice, Molina is deeply invested in community-building. In 2023, she co-founded Camp Street Studios and The Parlour Gallery, an artist-run production and exhibition space in New Orleans’ Arts District.
