Dr. Danielle Lewis serves as the John C. Candies Associate Professor of Finance at Southeastern Louisiana University and President of Lewis, Terrell & Associates. She began her academic career teaching economics at Kansas State University, Southeastern, and the University of New Orleans, where she also taught in the Innsbruck, Austria program, transitioning to finance and earning tenure at Southeastern in 2001.
Dr. Lewis’s research has been published in leading academic journals, including The Journal of Banking and Finance, The Journal of Risk and Insurance, Real Estate Economics, and The Journal of Real Estate Finance and Economics. Her recent work focuses on cost synergies associated with mergers and acquisitions.
In 2016, Dr. Lewis advised a Southeastern student team that earned first place in the national Conference of State Bank Supervisors Community Bank Case Study Competition and presented their findings at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis.
As President of Lewis, Terrell & Associates in Baton Rouge, Dr. Lewis conducts economic impact studies and damage assessments related to natural disasters, personal injury cases, and local business and policy decisions. She holds BA, MA, and PhD degrees in Economics from the University of Kansas and Kansas State University.
Dr. Lewis’s areas of expertise include money and banking, real estate, corporate finance, and international finance.
