Department of World Languages and CulturesDario Sponchiado is a lecturer in the Department of English and World Languages. Coming from Milano, Italy, he has a Master’s degree in Teaching Italian Language and Culture from Milan State University. He taught Italian in multiple countries before landing in the USA more than 10 years ago. Mr. Sponchiado enjoys technologies applied to education and has a graduate certificate from CU- Boulder in Language Teaching with Technology.
Italian Renaissance Studies, with a particular interest in the cultural significance of food, the origins of opera, and the intersections of science and society during this transformative historical period which included the invention of the printing press and Leonardo da Vinci’s inventions. Additionally, he explores Italian cinema as a lens through which to understand cultural identity and historical memory. His interests are language pedagogy and technology, with a focus on innovative approaches to language learning and digital tools in education.
